Damn it!!

I was being a cocky son of a bitch!!! I slipped and choked on my last day and my average dropped to 94.75... 2nd now in my class to my friend Chris who got a 95 percent average!! Argh!! Frustration..? Hell yeah.. oh well. Were on to the next step! One bad thought though, we all thought that the 2nd portion of our training would continue here, in Alabang, but on the last day, meaning just awhile ago, they informed us that our PCT training would continue in Makati. "FUCK!" could not even best describe what I wanted to say earlier.. So its still Makati until November 20-something.. Oh well.. Thats life.

I got to go home today, since our introduction to the second portion of training scheduled for Friday will be from 1 pm till 9 pm. Plus we get Monday off because of the holiday! Great! Another long weekend! I once more get a nice long slumber ahead of me.. Time to snooze.

Later!

HUNGRY...?

Monday, October 25, 2004

One day down.. only 3 more days to go until I finally settle down and start "the real thing" back in Alabang. I cant wait. I cant wait even more to celebrate Halloween since its a PAYDAY WEEKEND!! Woohoo!!!

Did anything out of the ordinary happen to me today? Well, when we were doing our rivalidas, we were asked this question: "Which part of the american culture would you like to see adapted into the filipino lifestyle?". We were given a minute to actually think of our answers and given 3 minutes to elaborate on them. We had to explain this into a recorder into our pc's which will be evaluated by our trainer. I didnt even need the minute to think of my answer. After the question was given, I immediately pressed on the record button and started blabbering my answers, each with a detailed explanation.

Apparently, my co-trainees were surprised that I got to answering the question immediately and they were like shocked and were actually laughing at how I answered the question, fast paced, no stutters, and with confidence. Thus it made them laugh and get into a mind block as I was apparently speaking loudly. Hey, what do you want?! We did it first thing at 7 in the morning, I havent had any coffee yet, and I was dying for a cigarette. Hehehe.

I have no doubt that I am indeed excelling in this training, and I am totally confident that my results are above excellent!

Am I being a cocky son of a bitch!? Excuse my impudence then, hehe, it's only on these rare occassions that I feel I am allowed to behave like a motherfucker. Haha.

I'll check you all again later. I have to get up once more at 5 am.

p.s. I am puzzled by one thing though, sometimes I seem to miss the bum-life, while at times I look back at my bum-life and shudder. Maybe its just that I miss being by the beach once again. But I know that that day will come soon. =)

My Current Fave:

Southern Comfort

After a week of Makati life, its great once again to be back home in Alabang! Nothing sure beats home.. although I am enjoying life in Makati. It has its own alluring vibe once you get used to it. I thoroughly enjoy walking home from work and seeing the metropolis from a pedestrians point of view. I enjoy the company of my co-trainees and I enjoy chilling at Bel Air park with my cousin from 4 pm til 6 pm, having a few beers and bbq just reflecting on the work day that has passed, while watching the smogasboard of people come and go thru the park.

Training is going WAY better than even I imagined it to be. Speeches, quizzes, group works, recitations and discussions, and overall charisma that I never thought I'd produce since high school, are going great. I have a 54 words per minute average with an accuracy rate of 96%. The cherry on top of the sundae? I have an overall performance record of 98.6%! Second only to this gender confused male who seems to enjoy being in denial of his true colors, even if everyone in the class know that he really does "bat for the wrong team" so to speak. I study everyday, ace all of my tests, am never late for work, I walk home from work, am being productive, and even though I do still drink at night with cousins and friends from Bel Air til 3 am, I still get up at 5 am to get ready for work. I'm finally being responsible. Who would've thunk it..?? I'm sure my friends didnt, coz I never thought I'd actually be able to do that. But look at me now. I've done a complete 180 degree turnaround for the better, and you know what? I feel great about it! =)

Funny how since I'm the second youngest, a lot of people in my wave care for me. The people I hang with are: a 23 yr old girl, two 27 yr old guys, a 43 yr old mother, a 28 yr old girl, and some other guys & girls that range from 24-31 years old. They got mad at me when I was smoking a menthol cigarette when I had this bad cough for two days, even snatching the stick from my mouth and throwing it away. They even gave me medicine and took care of me last Monday & Tuesday when I still went to training, promptly arriving before 7 am, with a 38.4 degree fever coupled with nasty cough and colds. Aww.. sweet bunch arent they? Hehe. I've got cool co-trainees! The right mixture of laughter, seriousness, and craziness that gel so well.

Thank God for my long weekend break. I get to rest and unwind once more. Which I'll start doing right about.... NOW!

Ciao...

Im doing my training now with differentiating american accents and words.. kinda easy actually. whoops, gtg!

Sunday, October 17, 2004

Well.. its time once more to say goodbye to the south that I love so much. I'm gonna be leaving soon to get back to Bel Air for work this week. It was great treating your friends with money you earned though. A whole different feeling!

Saturday night was great, drinking with the gang at Prim's house. I scored a big bottle of Agave tequila and a bottle of Stolich vodka. Needless to say, damn it hit hard!! Mon was drunk as hell hahaha! My friends Nik, Joe and my cousin Javi brought me home around I dont remember what time, and they used the internet while I subliminaly lay my ass down on the bed here in the computer room without the mattress gone, being used by my bro, and passed out. I awoke around 8 am today with a hangover that cuts like a buzzsaw, and no memory of what else happened last night. WASAK! Hahaha!!

Tonight I'm gonna be drinking again, just a little mind you, with my 2 cousins, Migs and Mara, and Mara's new boyfriend Momon, who Migs and I will be meeting for the first time.

Gotta finish packing my stuff, eat dinner, then pick up Migs and head to Makati. I'll see y'all this weekend! Later!

I'm Enjoying:

-My training for work every Mon-Fri from 7 am til 3 pm.
-Walking home after training and seeing Makati from a point of view I've never experienced before
-The free coffee we get at the office(hehe)
-The camaraderie of the people in my training batch(they're all nucking futs! haha)
-The way I sound speaking with an american accent("It's not pronounced as Marl-bo-ro, it's Marl-bro! har har! =Þ)
-The new pic my cousin Mara made for me that looks like I came from a scene straight out of the movie, "Waking Life"(see sidebar)
-Our binge on life with my weekday "roomies", my cousins Mara and Migs
-Sneaking during our lunch break and having a few beers before training resumes with some of my friends from the office
-Pulling it off without being late! =)
-Having a few beers and pork bbq's at BelAir park around 4-5:30 pm with my cousins and talking about how the work day went
-Being productive for once haha!
-Being able to treat your friends & family with money you earned
-Buying said parents gifts, my dad with a Polo Barong he needs, and my mom 2 new sandals she loves
-Playing with the 3 dogs(2 golden retrievers, 1 german shepherd) at BelAir
-Finally being able to sleep for more than just 4 hours, last night=)

The Only Thing I'm Not Enjoying:
-The way our cousin, Mara, wakes both me and Migs up at 5:30 am, by throwing our cellphones at our faces or slapping the back of our heads.
***Apparently, she's the one who wakes up from the alarm from our cellphones, and not us. Hahahahaha!

I spent Friday night drinking with my cousins and a few friends at Grilla's. I just found out that Squid Sisig tastes damn good! Mmm.. yum! Gonna be treating the south connection this time tonight. It's kind of like giving back for their support, and the way they say thanks is by getting drunk. Haha!

In any case, it feels good to be back home for the weekends! Ciao!

Wednesday, October 13, 2004

Woohoo!! Not bad, i actually enjoyed my first day of training! I thought I'd have a hard time getting up since I was drinking til like 3:30 am last night with my cousins and our friends from Bel Air. But I still got up around 5:40 am and after two jeep rides, was in the Insular Life building at around 6:45 am.

I already know everyone in my wave(like my batch) since I was pretty talkative, and I did interact with all the activites we did today. I was asked to do this speech in front of everyone, and it went well. I'm like the second youngest though.. almost everyone else is around 24-32 years old. But its all good.. I already hang out with most of them during lunch and cigarette breaks. Im not really good at remembering names though, I only remembered the names of a certain few. I'll make sure to get to know everyone more tomorrow. All in all I'd say that the people are great, and the stuff were doing so far has been fun and exciting. Free coffee, drink all you want too! I'm gonna remember to bring my own mug now starting tomorrow. Oh, and since the building is quite near, its at the corner of Ayala Ave and Paseo de Roxas, I actually walk all the way back home to Bel Air around 3 pm. Good exercise and better than being in between the traffic and smog if I commuted.

Guys, I'll celebrate with you guys probably this Saturday night aite? I'd say Friday night, but most of you have school the next day. So I'll be celebrating Friday night first with my cousins and Bel Air friends, and the Alabang & south connections on Saturday.

Later!

I'm off!

Gonna be based at Makati the rest of the week and go home around friday night.. or saturday early morning hahaha! Time to take that first step towards everyones favorite day.. PAYDAY! I can now celebrate Halloween in style! Thanks too, to this great worker jacket I got from the crew while doing the commercial. I now have a costume! Hahaha!=Þ

I love the fact that my accounts growing!! This time it'll keep growing because unlike before during my drug addled days, i wont be spending it "stupidly" and withdrawing without a care as if I had "unlimited" as my balance. Ah maturity.. =Þ

So I gave half of the pay I got from the commercial to my mom.. I was pretty hesitant at first, but after bumming around for so long and her being patient with me and giving me money whenever I ask her for some when I go out or whatever, I just felt like I OWED HER A LOT. Soooo... 1+1=2. or 5k.. I dont feel bad about it though. =)

Monday, October 11, 2004

My day started at exactly 2 pm Saturday.. I've only gotten 4 hours of sleep til then!!

I did that damn commercial yesterday and today. i slept from 10pm sunday til 2:30 am today.. i actually set my alarm clock to snooze at 1:30 am so i'd get up at 2 am. but i kept snoozing it til 2:30 am! or 2:50 am to be exact! haha! met up with my friend joe at Shell Magallanes around 3:30 am and was at the shell gas station after the Balintawak entry of the north luzon expressway at 4:10 am. of course, everyone was late except for us. then we travelled til Dau, w/c is like 90 kms from Balintawak and started shooting around 6 am. fuck.. im tired as hell...

for 2 straight days, we've been filming shit from 6 am til 6:30 pm!! i cant take that anymore! we travelled up and down the whole north expressway a total of 4 times each day for different shot locations!! sure, i got 10k from both days.. but i think i shouldve gotten more. i actually gave half to my mom.

ill continue the stories some other time. later.

Sunday, October 10, 2004

This is the fucking last time I'm doing a commercial with a location that far!! I'm mentally shut from not sleeping for two days, tired as hell, and I have to be there again tomorrow at 5 am!! FUCKING A!!!!!! I'm going to sleep right now..

Saturday Night Shot..

Well.. there goes my saturday night. I dont think I'll be going anywhere since me and my friend, Joe, have to meet up with the director and crew at Shell, Forbes at 4 am sunday for the commercial we're doing for the new look North Luzon Expressway. Damn.. talk about locationing! I cant really complain about the distance anyway, its still good money in the bank.

It was actually supposed to be scheduled for today and sunday. But since the weather wasnt clear yet, they postponed the shoot for tomorrow and monday. Which gives me quite a conundrum. You see, I wont be able to make it for the monday shoot, I still have to get a lot of requirements done for my start at Convergys this comming wednesday. I still have to text the crew and inform them about it. Hopefully, I can work it so that all the shots needed will be done on sunday so there wont be any voids left with my no show on monday. Why cant they just move everything to next weekend? Is it really that tight scheduled that they need everything done asap? Man.. talk about circumstances..

Oh well.. I'll just wait and see how everything unfolds. Its the only option I've got left anyway. Later!

Finally!! After struggling with self-learning HTML, I finally got to customize my template into the exact look I want!! It feels great knowing all that hard work payed off. =)

Now my template looks.. "Viewtiful"!

Hahahahaha!! *wicked grin..*

Fifa releases World Player list:

Fifa have unveiled their shortlist for World Player of the Year, with Thierry Henry, and Wayne Rooney amongst a wealth of Premiership stars included.

Rooney is one of six British players in the list, with Real Madrid pair Michael Owen and David Beckham, Liverpool's Steven Gerrard, Chelsea's Frank Lampard and Ryan Giggs of Wales also included. Ten players from current Premiership clubs are named, Arsenal's French pair Henry and Robert Pires, Cristiano Ronaldo and Ruud van Nistelrooy from Manchester United, Liverpool's Milan Baros and Didier Drogba from Chelsea joining the British stars.

Ten players from Italian clubs are included, 12 from Spain's La Liga and three from the German Bundesliga. Current holder Zinedine Zidane is again amongst the nominees, along with an astounding six of his Real Madrid team-mates.

Here are the nominees:
Adriano, Roberto Ayala, Michael Ballack, Milan Baros, David Beckham, Gianluigi Buffon, Cafu, Cristiano Ronaldo, Deco, Didier Drogba, Samuel Eto'o, Luis Figo, Steven Gerrard, Ryan Giggs, Thierry Henry, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Oliver Kahn, Kaka, Frank Lampard, Henrik Larsson, Roy Makaay, Paolo Maldini, Pavel Nedved, Alessandro Nesta, Michael Owen, Robert Pires, Raul, Roberto Carlos, Ronaldinho, Ronaldo, Wayne Rooney, Andrei Shevchenko, Ruud van Nistlerooy, Theo Zagorakis, Zinedine Zidane.

***Personally, I think Deco should win it. His accomplishments with Porto in the UEFA Champions League and Portugese League, and his play with Portugal during EURO 2004 says it all. But I'm almost certain that the winner will be Thierry Henry. Who do you think should win?

God damn it!! I hate having to retype everything I just finished typing! I hate it when you try and publish a long post, and when something goes wrong, you find out that you have to retype every fucking bit again... hay, dios mio!!

Here we go again..

Phew.. So I just had my medical exam today for work. Took me quite a while to find the building where Medicard clinic was, and after looking stupid by asking a random officer for directions to the building, and him pointing to the building that I had just passed a few feet back, I thougt I was in for a long day.. Hoo boy!

Everything was going smoothly. Then the blood sample came. First off, I knew that they were gonna extract the blood from my vein, and it was my first time to have that sort of blood test done. I wasnt afraid or anything, but their tactic of like, distracting me while they poke the needle into my arm was pretty darn.. weird. Why the fuss on having to distract me?! Sheesh.. It didnt even hurt. Maybe it was because this fat lady who went before me kept shrieking, "Ouch, ouch.. sniff sniff..", that they thought all the others would follow would wimper like her. Give me a break!

Oh and the drug test?! Ye gads.. There were 4 of us, 3 guys and 1 girl. I was to go first, but being a gentleman, I let the lady go ahead instead of me. Bad move.. It took her 25, I repeat, 25 minutes to piss into a small container. The guy behind me kept laughing and saying, "regreting your decision to allow her to go 1st huh?". The doctors even got a kick out of going back and forth and seeing us still waiting in line. I joked the doctor and nurse that the lady could be taking long because she may be switching urine with one she may have brought in a jar with, so she wouldnt be caught as being "positive" on drugs. This actually prompted the doctor to tell the nurse to knock on the door, and tell her to hurry up. Thank God!! I was almost ready to "fill er up" in the unused x-ray room beside us.

After my medical exam, I headed straight for the RCBC building to meet up with my cousin Migs and his mom, who works for Ambassador Yuchengco there, for lunch. The Japanese food was great! Migs was there to take this exam for another call center. After lunch, my aunt toured us around Ambassador Yuchengco's office on the top most floor, the 50th. From up there, I could see the Benilde and AKIC building, La Salle building, most of Roxas, and of course, Manila bay. The office was HUGE and SPACIOUS! I couldnt help but think what it would be like to have a decked out apartment with that much space, and be on that same floor. Pretty sweet..

The BIR clearance was a breeze. In and out in just 5 mins. Not bad since I was actually expecting it to take long.

The part of my arm where they took the blood sample is all black and blue now. It kinda looks like a junkie's arm now.. Ugh, I just remembered how that guys arm in the movie, "Requiem for a Dream" looked like. Gross...

Later..

to think i thought i was the only one, never would i realize
that my actions from the past would be haunting, like a playback
hitting back, but in the form of another
though i thought i did it all, the drugs, the life, the splendor
you break out of your shell, like the night beckoning
to become darker, was it that i never showed the right way?
or never really gave a shit to what you did? God forbid,
that you go again and do something totally stupid, like the other day
how the fuck do you go and do what you do!? what the fuck are you thinking?!
to bring a gun to school, what the fuck are you taking?!
dont you think you've caused our parents enough pain, you've even surpassed what i've done
leaving them asking me, "what the hell is to be done? what the fuck can they do about you?"
i dont even have a clue, ive trusted you endless only for you to break your promises
when will you fucking learn, when its too late?! what the fuck? dont wait,
because life aint that simple, you've got to learn your way
day by day, but until then all we can do is try and keep you in check
coz your blood, so dont act so stupid,
damn it, use your fucking head.

To the Next Step

Ok, so today i finally accepted the job offer from Convergys. I start training in the Makati office first starting this Oct 13th, and then I'm gonna be asigned in the Filinvest, Alabang office. Most of the people I met today we're extended to be on the DirectTV account, I on the other hand was one of only 2 people who we're assigned to ClearPay.

I'm not really familiar with what ClearPay exactly is, but they told me that because I seemed to have a great "gift of gab", meaning I knew exactly what to say in whatever situation I was put in during the simulation. They also assigned me to that account because they felt I was just right in that field w/c requires me to also sell idea's to people to upgrade their account with that ClearPay company. If I remember correctly, its either a cellphone company there in the US(like Smart or Globe is here), or I think a credit card company. Personally, I think they assigned me to that division because I'm a good "bullshiter", able to convince the gullible to upgrade whatever service they have with ClearPay. And if I do good enough, I get better shots at promotions, bonuses, etc..

Anyway, I thought my training would be at the ungodly hours of the graveyard shift, but it seems that I begin training at 7 am(also ungodly hehe) til 3 pm. Not bad actually. I wont be experiencing any traffic with that schedule. Oh, and I get weekends off too. Sweet!

I've got one week of freedom left. After that, its on. This is it.
To the next step!
Ciao.
